PBG

300 million gallons of water conserved per year. 16,000 tons of plastic saved through new bottle designs. 100 percent of U.S. electricity needs offset through renewable energy certificates. All amazing things the world should know about PBG.

Reporting on environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors has become an integral part of measuring performance. With ACT! – its first-ever corporate responsibility report – the Pepsi Bottling Group brought word of its leadership to key stakeholders worldwide.

Eric J. Foss, former president and CEO for PBG, explains the report’s significance: “As customers, consumers, recruits and shareholders become more educated about sustainability, they are increasingly conscious of a company’s track record when making purchase, employment and investment decisions.”

The report focuses on PBG’s efforts in three main areas: the environment, employee health and well-being, and families and communities. The company had been pursuing these efforts for years, but had not previously publicized their good citizenship.

Using the Global Reporting Initiative framework and working with PBG’s internal team, Brandlogic developed a reporting strategy and created the narrative. Printed on environmentally friendly paper and made available through a dedicated website provided by Brandlogic, the report won a Green/Sustainable Design award from American Graphic Design and Advertising and set the stage for continued PBG sustainability efforts.
