Hampton Bridwell, CEO of Brandlogic, comments on winning naming strategies in

Wilton, CT (January 20, 2012) – Appearing in the January/February 2012 edition of CNNMoney, CEO of Brandlogic Hampton Bridwell offers his advice on how to create a winning name for a start-up business. Bridwell was interviewed by Daniel Bortz, senior writer for, the world’s largest business website.

When creating a new name, Bridwell offers some practical advice: “Try adding to the beginning or end of a word (as travel site Expedia or GPS system OnStar did).”

Choosing a highly creative company name may be catchy, but the name also has to be easy to pronounce and easily accessible via Google and Yahoo. “Keep in mind that words of three syllables or fewer are easiest on the ears—and easiest to plug into search engines,” said Bridwell.
